IVORY COAST - Bongouanou
In Ivory Coast, the Christian faith coexists with Islam and traditional African beliefs. Spiritually, the country remains strongly influenced by animist practices, such as protection rites involving ritual objects, offerings to ancestors, and consulting healers and marabouts.
All of these highly charged spiritual practices sometimes intertwine with Christian traditions, necessitating a crucial need for solid biblical teachings and evangelism centered on the truth of one God, Jesus.
The church we built stands in the heart of a village, surrounded by a forest of fetishes and sorcerers, establishing light among the darkness.
THE YOUNG MISSIONARIES WERE ABLE TO:
-
Church planting of a church, inaugurated in the presence of 175 people
-
Evangelistic campaigns carried out in different villages
-
Spent time with hundreds of village children, playing, singing, laughing, but also sharing the Gospel.
-
Brought the gospel to prison to 250 inmates, distributing Bibles and clothing
-
Sharing the gospel in pediatrics while providing toys and clothing to children and their mothers
-
Distribution of food parcels and hygiene products to 600 families in precarious situations, as well as to widows and orphans
-
Medical consultations for 113 people
-
Cared for orphans by providing them with toys, clothing, and sharing the Good News of Jesus with them
-
Purchase of 2 mattresses and cushions for two paralyzed people
CONCLUSION
While we didn't expect to meet so many children, this mission proved incredibly enriching. Every day in the village, we connected with hundreds of children, building deep bonds and sharing faith with this generation, who will grow up with a church nearby.
During these two weeks, numerous evangelistic actions were carried out in various places: the prison, the hospital, the pediatrician, the orphanage, the villages, homes, during medical consultations, and even in taxis.
The spiritual battle has been won, and we have the joy of leaving behind us a church already filled with the faithful, ready to take possession of a spiritually marked village.
