MEXICO - Palenque & Tijuana

Mexico, although predominantly Catholic, is a country where traditional indigenous beliefs, ancestral spiritual practices, and popular beliefs sometimes blend with the Christian faith. What stands out particularly in this country are the deep social inequalities, with a large portion of the population living below the poverty line.

It is in this context that we began our mission in Palenque, where we distributed food packages and clothing to orphans, the most underprivileged, and people with disabilities. We took the time to pray for them, both children and adults, sharing with them the most precious help of all: Jesus.

In an environment steeped in indigenous spiritual practices, we also met the Maya people of the Chiapas region. There, we discovered a community isolated from the modern world, living in precarious conditions.

At the end of the mission, the team split and ended in Tijuana, one of the most dangerous Mexican cartels in the world, where the Gospel was preached.

THE YOUNG MISSIONARIES WERE ABLE TO :

  • Distribution of food packages to 700 people, including orphans, people with disabilities, the most vulnerable, and the Maya community

  • Sharing the Gospel with 120 orphans

  • Donating warm clothing to people in need, the sick, and orphans in a region where the climate is cold due to the high altitude

  • Proclaiming the Gospel to the last remaining Maya people in the Chiapas region

  • Bringing the Gospel to members of the Mexican cartel

CONCLUSION

The mission in Mexico was intense, we walked through key and dangerous places, but we know that the spiritual impact will be great. The leader of the Maya village, after experiencing the power of God, was not only healed of his heart condition, but he also converted, was baptized, and asked us to return to plant a church for his people.
